NVIDIA has introduced the GeForce RTX 5050 mobile model, the latest graphics card in the RTX 50 series laptop platform. The GPU, which went on sale in China, is expected to be available in the global market in the coming days. The RTX 5050, whose desktop version has not yet been announced, offers both more powerful hardware and a performance increase compared to its predecessor, the RTX 4050, on the mobile side.

The new model is built on NVIDIA’s GB207 graphics processor. The GPU, which has 2560 CUDA cores, comes with 8 GB of GDDR7 memory. A total of 384 GB/s bandwidth is provided over the 128-bit memory interface. Information had previously leaked that the desktop version would be released with GDDR6 memory, but the use of GDDR7 in the mobile version shows that there is no restriction in this regard.
The TDP value of the graphics card was announced as 115W. In performance tests, the RTX 5050 mobile model scores about 10% higher than its predecessor, the RTX 4050. The 10,269-point score in the Time Spy test indicates a 9% lower performance than the desktop RTX 4050 and an 18% lower performance than the RTX 5060 Laptop model.
Similar results were obtained in the Firestrike Extreme and Port Royal tests. In the Port Royal test, the RTX 5050 scored 27% higher than the RTX 4050. However, it scored 19% and 18% lower than the RTX 5060 Laptop, respectively.
The laptop models carrying the new GPU have also been clarified. Mechrevo’s Kuangshi X model and ASUS’ TianXuan 6 series were the first devices to be offered for sale with the RTX 5050 Laptop GPU. These systems feature the Intel Core i7-14650HX processor. The starting price of the devices was determined as approximately $913.
